Catsup

Catsup is a history-saving internet real-time chatting system built atop the Federated Communication Services (FCS, pronounced 'facts') protocol. Its development team consists of Klara Böhringer, Quartzshard, Solunareclipse1, and VirtuallySyrup. It boasts the following features:

• Seamless federation (including painfree instance switching)

• Native media support through both message attachments and custom emojis

• Heirarchical channel grouping (somewhat akin to Discord/Revolt/Slack's "servers") with customization

• Both web-based and native TLS client->instance APIs

• A simple and coherent set of standards, rigidly designed to prevent instance capability fracturing through extensions

The platform is currently in the planning stages, with no code written and no protocol specifications agreed upon.

Discussion about the final featureset is still ongoing, with open questions about e2ee on the platform, and the nature of a message.
